New York City Campaign Finance Board Post-Election Hearing

New York City’s landmark campaign finance program is designed to amplify the voices of New Yorkers in our elections. Now that the 2013 elections have concluded, the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) is asking for public feedback on the program's efforts to fulfill this mission.

The CFB will hold its post-election hearing on Wednesday, January 22, starting at 9:30 AM at the New York Law School.

The hearing will be organized around four panel discussions featuring invited speakers. There will be an opportunity for questions and comments from the public following each panel. The four panel topics are:

  1. Matching Small-Dollar Contributions: Strengths and Challenges
  2. Bringing Independent Spending Out of the Dark
  3. Voter Education & Engagement: Reaching All New Yorkers
  4. New Campaign Technology: Improving Fundraising and Disclosure

The CFB invites the public to provide feedback on its work at this hearing. More information about the hearing, including instructions for those who wish to testify, will be made available in January.

The CFB is required by law to evaluate the impact of its work after each citywide election. As part of its review, the Board seeks feedback from candidates, members of the public, elected officials, and civic organizations. Information discussed at the post-election hearing will provide a basis for the CFB's comprehensive Post-Election Report, to be published in September 2014.
