NYC Votes Holds Second Annual Advocacy Day for Election Reform

NYC Votes will hold its second annual #VoteBetterNY Advocacy Day for Election Reform in Albany on Wednesday, April 22nd. NYC Votes will lead a group of nearly 100 concerned citizens urging state legislators to modernize New York's voting system. This year's #VoteBetterNY agenda includes three key reform proposals:

  • Online voter registration
  • Better ballot design
  • Early Voting

The Advocacy Day volunteers come from a number of partner organizations. They will be meeting with their local legislator when possible to share personal stories of the ill effects of New York's antiquated voting laws. Reporters wishing to interview any of the citizen advocates traveling to Albany should contact our press office at (212) 409-1773.

Track the NYC Votes team's progress in the state capitol on Wednesday by following us on Twitter and Facebook. New Yorkers can add their voices to our reform movement by using the #VoteBetterNY hashtag.

NYC Votes is the non-partisan voter engagement campaign of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
