Campaign Finance Board Assesses Penalties, Votes on Repayment Obligation and Announces Post-Election Payments

During a regularly scheduled meeting today, the Campaign Finance Board assessed penalties against one campaign and determined that one campaign must repay public funds. For details, see below.

The Board also approved a post-election payment of $4,755 to the campaign of John Luisi, a candidate for Staten Island Borough President in the 2009 elections. This brings the total public funds received by Mr. Luisi to $244,689. The Board also approved a post-election payment of $3,506 to the campaign of Geraldine Chapey, a candidate for City Council in the February 24, 2009 special election in District 32. This brings the total public funds received by Ms. Chapey to $70,688.
