NYC Votes! has launched a voting experience survey that will be available in all city taxi cabs. Through a partnership with the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC), the survey will be available on every city taxi TV screen until Monday, July 2nd.
The survey asks New Yorkers if they have voted in June’s Congressional Primary Election. Additionally, it asks about their voting experience and what they would change to make voting easier. The answers provided will help the agency pursue its mission of providing timely voting information and increasing voter turnout throughout the city.
“We’re excited by this partnership with the TLC because it increases our outreach to potential voters. We hope that the survey reminds New Yorkers to go out to vote on Election Day,” said Onida Coward Mayers, Campaign Finance Board’s Director of Voter Assistance. "The data from the survey will help us direct our outreach in future elections."
"With taxicabs serving over 500,000 people every day, this was a very natural way to enhance voter outreach," said TLC Commissioner and Chair David Yassky. "The feedback gleaned from these surveys will provide a valuable resource to 'NYC Votes!', and we were happy to assist."
This survey will also run during the state primary elections in September and the general election in November. The survey is also available on NYC Votes! Facebook page or with this link.
