Candidates for 2009 Citywide Elections File Disclosure Statements with Campaign Finance Board

September 4, 2009
160 potential candidates in the 2009 citywide elections have filed required financial disclosure statements with the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) as of 8:00 PM today.

This is the eleventh scheduled disclosure statement for the 2009 citywide elections. All candidates running in a primary election, including non-participants, are required by law to provide a detailed report of all financial activity for their campaigns covering the period August 11, 2009 – August 31, 2009.

The fourth and final payment of public matching funds for the primary election, scheduled for Friday, September 11, will be based on matching claims disclosed through this filing statement.
Daily pre-election disclosures. As of September 1, all candidates running in a primary election, including non-participants, must report any contributions or loans of more than $1,000, and expenditures of more than $20,000, within 24 hours of the transaction. These pre-election disclosure statements are available for viewing (in PDF format) on the CFB website here.

Re-designed financial summary page. Updated, detailed information for these candidates can be found on the CFB website’s re-designed financial summary page. The newly formatted campaign finance summary page allows users to click through each candidate’s name to see a detailed, in-depth look at each candidate’s finances. The new format also allows users to sort the full list of candidates by district (City Council) or borough (borough president), allowing an easier comparison of finances in particular races.

Updates to the CFB's searchable online database. Information about particular transactions can be found in the searchable online database. Added functionality allows users to search all schedules filed by campaigns with the CFB, including loans, transfers, and advance purchases, along with contributions and expenditures. For more information about either of these updates, contact the CFB’s Press office at (212) 306-7100.
