Candidates for February 24 Special Elections for City Council File Disclosure Statements with CFB

Nineteen candidates in the February 24th, 2009 special elections in Council districts 21 (Queens), 32 (Queens), and 49 (Staten Island) have filed required financial disclosure statements.

This is the third scheduled disclosure statement for the February 24 special elections. All candidates in the February 24th special elections, including non-participants, are required by law to provide a detailed report of all financial activity for their campaigns covering dates between January 20th and February 10th, 2009.

Candidates may deliver statements to the CFB, submit filings electronically, or send the materials by mail, as long as submissions are postmarked by midnight, February 13th.

During the fourteen days before the election, candidates must disclose to the CFB any contributions or loans larger than $1,000 and expenditures larger than $20,000 within twenty-four hours. Those disclosures can be found on the CFB website. The next regular disclosure statement is due March 23rd, 2009, covering all transactions between February 10th and March 19th, 2009.
