Candidates for the November 2012 Special Election File with the Campaign Finance Board

October 5, 2012

Two candidates in the Council District 12 special election have filed required campaign finance disclosure statements with the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB).  This is the first scheduled disclosure statement for the special election on November 6.

All potential candidates in the Council District 12 special election are required by law to provide a detailed report of all financial activity for their campaigns through October 1, 2012.

All candidates in the Council District 12 special election will file electronically via C-SMART web, the CFB's web portal that will allow campaigns to submit financial disclosures from any computer with Internet access. This will be the first filing that has all candidates use C-SMART web. Submissions must be made by midnight, October 5.

Board rules adopted earlier this year requiring disclosure of independent expenditures will be in effect for this special election. Today’s is also the first deadline for disclosure of independent expenditures in this election. Disclosure statements from independent spenders must also be filed electronically, and their disclosures can be found here. More information about the rules is also available on the CFB website.

The following candidates have submitted disclosure statements as of today.  Updated, detailed information for these candidates can be found on the CFB website’s financial summary page and in the searchable online database.

Notices of new filings will be posted to the CFB’s Twitter feed, @NYCCFB, as they become available. You can search for updates with the hashtag #FilingDay.
