CFB Announces Important Dates for Candidates in the February 24 Special Elections

The Campaign Finance Board has announced important dates for candidates in the February 24, 2009 special elections in Council districts 21 (Queens), 32 (Queens), and 49 (Staten Island).

Candidates wishing to run as participants in the Campaign Finance Program and have their contributions eligible to be matched with public funds must complete and submit a Candidate Certification to the CFB by 5:00 PM on January 12, 2009, or postmarked before midnight of the due date.

Candidates running as non-participants must file a Filer Registration as soon as they begin raising and spending money that will be disclosed in the next disclosure statement.
