Fundraising Period #1 for 2013 Elections Ended Yesterday

Candidates to file campaign finance disclosures with CFB by Thursday, July 15
July 12, 2010

Yesterday was the last day of the first reporting period for the 2013 citywide elections. All potential candidates with active campaigns for the 2013 election, including non-participants, are required by law to provide a detailed report of all financial activity covering the beginning of the election cycle, January 12, 2010 through July 11, 2010.

After legislation was enacted to extend term limits from two to three terms, some candidates from the 2009 elections chose to freeze or suspend their campaigns for the next citywide elections to take place in 2013. Candidates who froze or suspended their campaigns following the change in law are required to file disclosures on Thursday.

FILING DAY DETAILS

Candidates may deliver statements to the CFB by hand, submit their filings electronically, or send the materials by mail (as long as mailed submissions are postmarked by July 15).

As disclosures are filed on July 15, the CFB will update its website with the latest financial information throughout the day. A press advisory will be issued to alert interested parties each time that new information is posted to the website.

Most financial information for campaign filers may be found in two places:
