New Maps From Campaign Finance Board Analyze Fundraising for the 2013 Elections

July 26, 2012

The Campaign Finance Board has created maps depicting the distribution of contributions throughout New York City by zip code. The contributions shown are to candiates for the 2013 elections through July 11, 2012. Additionally, these maps compare fundraising between the 2009 and 2013 election cycles. The CFB's website also provides an interactive version of these maps, which are viewable in most browsers, except Internet Explorer 8 or below.

Last week, 101 candidates for the 2013 elections filed required disclosures with the Campaign Finance Board reporting all campaign finance activity from January 12 to July 11, 2012. With that filing, candidates have reported raising a total of $30.7 million for the entire 2013 election cycle.

The maps were built using data from the agency's searchable database, which provides detailed information on contributors, contributions, and other campaign finance activity of candidates seeking election to New York City municipal offices.
