NYC Campaign Finance Board Votes on Enforcement Matters for Three Campaigns

At today's public meeting, the NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) determined that three campaigns from the 2017 election cycle committed violations and assessed penalties for those violations. One candidate received a post-election public funds payment. Refer to the table below for details on these determinations. A video record of the meeting is available at nyccfb.info/live.
Other matters before the Board in today's meeting included:
The Board voted to ratify public funds payments in the general election for Queens Borough President. The CFB issued payments to candidates in this race on October 8, and October 29 since last meeting in September.
The Board voted to issue Advisory Opinion 2020-3, which states: "Candidates may establish special election committees beginning when a special election is reasonably anticipated, and may simultaneously maintain an active committee for a reasonably anticipated special election and an active committee for the subsequent primary and general elections. The out-year expenditure limit is applied to the three years preceding the year of the candidate’s next election, including special elections."
The Board considered a Rule 7-09 petition and heard from a candidate regarding this petition, and agreed to deliberate further and will vote on the matter at its next meeting.
The Board voted to approve proposed rules for public comment.
