NYC Votes! Launches Second Voter Survey in City Taxi Cabs

September 14, 2012

NYC Votes! has launched the second round of its 2012 voter experience survey, available in all New York City taxi cabs. Through a partnership with the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC), the survey will be available on touch screen televisions in every city taxi until Wednesday, September 19.

The survey asks New Yorkers whether they voted in yesterday’s primary election, how they would rate their voting experience, and, if they did not vote, why not. Additionally, the survey asks all respondents what they would change to make voting easier.  The answers will help NYC Votes! pursue its mission of educating and engaging voters to increase turnout throughout the city.

Voters may also participate in the survey online by visiting the NYC Votes! Facebook page or by following this link.

The survey will run on Election Day in November. The same survey was available following June 26 Congressional primary. NYC Votes! will release its analysis of the results from all three elections in December 2012.

NYC Votes! is the non-partisan voter engagement campaign of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes! sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
