Why Vote? Town Hall, Moderated by WNYC's Brian Lehrer

The Campaign Finance Board’s Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC) is excited to announce a special event hosted by WNYC’s Brian Lehrer on Tuesday, November 1st from 10AM - 12PM. Brian Lehrer will facilitate a Town Hall conversation with an open call to all New Yorkers to share their views about civic engagement and voter participation in New York City elections.

From 10AM- 11AM, Brian Lehrer will lead a discussion of the Occupy Wall Street movement and its potential to engage more people in the political process.

From 11AM-12PM, the conversation will focus on soliciting ideas to improve voter participation in New York City, with contributions from experts in the field.

VAAC hopes to engage thousands of New Yorkers to participate in this historic event via live radio, live webcast, phone, Twitter, and text messaging.
