1. What is the most important issue in Council District 23 you would address if elected?

The City’s future is invariably linked to the education we provide our children. That is a fact that holds true in all 51 Council Districts. The schools in our community are some of the best in the City, but more needs to be done. We must reduce class sizes, pay our teachers more, and bring better technology to our classrooms. It is imperative that we give the next generation every opportunity.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

We have come a long way in the last four years, but we cannot rest.

Rampant overdevelop threatens to destroy the character of our neighborhoods. As your City Councilman, I have encouraged responsible growth and smart investment in our community.

While crime has dropped, we must remain vigilant and focused. It is critical that our streets stay safe, and I will continue to fight for public safety funds and more police officers.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have lived in the Jamaica-Hollis area my entire life. I understand the issues that affect our community, and I have worked tirelessly to ensure that we get our fair share. As Chair of the New York City Council Finance Committee, I have delivered for the families I represent, bringing millions of dollars back to our community and it would be an honor to continue my service for another term.
