1. What is the most important issue in Brooklyn you would address if elected?

Right now nothing is more important than finding jobs for Brooklynites, ensuring investment continues and that Brooklynites reap the benefits of that growth. That means jobs in retail, business, health care, arts, and the manufacturing trades Brooklyn is famous for. Our borough is a big town-small town, so while I work hard to bring in tourism dollars, I also work to ensure we remain a place of diverse, vibrant neighborhoods, full of character and characters!

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Affordable housing. Since my early days as a tenants rights advocate, I have advocated for housing that allows Brooklynites of every income to live and raise families here. Through zoning, capital funds, partnerships and advocacy, my office has created thousands of units and pioneered the citywide policy of using zoning incentives for developers to build in affordability. We must fight foreclosures and protect housing regulation that ensures our children can afford to live here. Other priorities: educational excellence with real parental involvement, quality health care, thriving senior centers and affordable assisted living, and making sure all Brooklynites get responsive action from government.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I am proud to say that I will always be as Brooklyn as they come. Brooklynites know I wake up every day and ask how can I make life better for residents. I've spent my life in Brooklyn, the greatest city in America, and believe I have made the job of Borough President relevant in every corner of the borough. I will continue to deliver on the promise of putting Brooklyn on the map, making our Downtown a business and cultural hub, ushering in a new heyday for Coney Island, revitalizing our waterfront, promoting borough-wide economic growth and making sure everyone everywhere is either a Brooklynite or a Brooklynite wanna-be!
