1. What is the most important issue in Council District 4 you would address if elected?

In these trying economic times, government, like our own households, must "do more with less." Yet the NY City Council has spent us into multi-billion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see. Excessive spending has led to excessive taxation, making businesses and resident alike flee the Upper-East-Side. This exodus is destroying the fabric of our community and it must stop. I will work to reduce City spending and taxation to preserve the future of our neighborhoods.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

First, it is critical that we preserve the affordable housing in our District. I will fight against any changes in the law that would hurt residents of the East-Side.

Second, I want to expand on the most successful program in the public school system today, Charter Schools. These independent public schools are providing children and their parents with an increased degree of educational choice, at a lower cost than traditional public schools, improving education at minimal taxpayer expense.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

My professional experience and education make me well qualified for the job of City Council, but I think I bring something to the table that most of the candidates in this race do not, a fresh perspective to evaluate many old problems. I am the best candidate because I will promise to take us in a new, reform-minded direction.
