1. What is the most important issue in Council District 32 you would address if elected?
Like all New Yorkers, the people of district #32 are experiencing stressful economic times. Small businesses have failed, families have lost their homes due to foreclosures, and the lack of good paying jobs has made it more difficult to make ends meet. Clearly, there is no greater issue confronting voters this year than the state of our economy. We need real solutions to revitalize our communities, create new jobs, and encourage young people, like me, to stay in New York. This means reducing the tax burden on middle and working class families, cutting bureaucratic red tape for small business owners, and finding more ways to keep this city affordable for those of us who choose to call it home.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Quality of life concerns must also be a top priority. Fighting overdevelopment, cleaning up graffiti vandalism, and cracking down on excessive noise in our neighborhoods will continue to be my agenda. I will also place a renewed emphasis on improving public transportation in our district.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
During my brief time in office, I have brought energy and enthusiasm to City Hall. In my next term, my plan is to continue my wholehearted commitment to serving the needs of my constituents. We have already accomplished much. Together, I know we can accomplish even more.
