1. What is the most important issue in Council District 37 you would address if elected?
Housing
Affordable housing is still the most important need of the people of the 37th C.D. My focus specifically would be targeted to the following:
Helping owners at risk of foreclosure remain in their homes.
Maintain or reduce the property tax rate.
Create new homeownership opportunities within financial reach of local residents.
Provide affordable rental units for low and middle income residents.
Continue to amend and revise New York City's Housing Maintenance Code that will improve New York City's housing stock in a way that is fair to both tenants and home owners alike.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Infrastructure
Continue to use the city capital budget to fund community improvement projects. In my first seven years as Council Member for the 37th C.D., I have returned tax payer dollars to the district in excess of 120 million dollars to build or repair schools, parks, housing, roads, hospitals and firehouses.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
As a lifelong resident of the 37th C.D. the needs of the area have and will always come first. My experience in city government and track record delivering for the district are unrivaled.
