1. What is the most important issue in Council District 51 you would address if elected?

If elected to my second term, I will continue to address the changing demand of Staten Island's transportation infrastructure. Also, through zoning regulation changes and working with various city agencies, I will continue to build on my success in curbing overdevelopment and maintaining the character of our community.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

The most important issue the city must face over the next four years will be to spearhead an economic upturn without overburdening the middle class on Staten Island with new and increased taxes. We need to pass responsible budgets that address the safety and security of our city without forcing out the homeowners and small business owners that drive the borough's economy. As your Councilman, I have and will continue to fight for adequate police and fire staffing, against major funding cuts to schools, and against unfair taxes that place a heavier burden on Staten Island.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have spent nearly all of my adult life serving the people of the South Shore. My experience in government and knowledge of the community have yielded significant results, from new parks to technology upgrades in our schools. I am committed to working hard at maintaining the quality of life we enjoy as Staten Islanders, and I am not afraid to take a stand when others in government try to shortchange my neighbors.
