1. What is the most important issue in Council District 36 you would address if elected?

Richard Taylor has been a prominent leader in the Bed-Stuy community for over 35 years. His leadership abilities have been proven whereas he has fought on the behalf of community residents for the establishment of affordable housing and worked against predatory lenders. He has an interest in Community Revitalization, with an emphasis on creating programs and services to target youth. In addition, Richard Taylor has worked with Together We Stand, Inc in his role as Executive Director; he has created a mentorship program. He has an outstanding record of working to protect Seniors in obtaining affordable housing as well as addressing the concerns that plague the community. He has been essential in establishing relationships with the community and local churches. Richard Taylor is still fighting for the procurement of grants for small businesses. He is active in the Continued Revitalization of Dekalb Avenue.

For over 20 years the same issues have been a major concern in this community. It’s time to make a change to rid this community of the issues and concerns mentioned in some of the previous statements made by this candidate.
