1. What is the most important issue in Council District 3 you would address if elected?

I believe the most important issue facing District 3 is the failure to effectively involve community input in local government. This impacts everything from development that doesn't fit the community's needs, to an education system that doesn't give parents proper say in their children's education, to quality of life issues which are unnecessarily compromised by poor planning. Community input must be sought out and seen as a benefit, not as an impediment to progress.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Other issues important to me are transportation, affordable housing, civil liberties, elder care, accessibility, protection of small businesses, parks and public space, arts funding, and the humane treatment of animals. You can see a full listing along with a position on each issue at our website www.yettakurland.com.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have worked my whole life to empower those around me. I offer the opportunity for change and will be an independent voice for our community in City Hall.
