1. What is the most important issue in Council District 23 you would address if elected?
Without a doubt the wasteful spending within city government is our most pressing concern. It is the root cause of so many of the other important problems we face - such as funding education, property taxes, jobs, city services - you name it. I'm a small business owner and if I couldn't account for what was coming in and what was going out, I would be out of a job (with the IRS knocking on my door). It's time to bring the same common sense approaches to City Council.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
I stand for working families, health care for all and a better quality of life for our senior citizens, after school and youth programs, unity in our community, and for making government work for taxpayers again - not the other way around.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I care deeply about the issues facing our community and have a clear record of action. I have been a longtime business and community leader in our community and am an active advocate for greater diversity, tolerance, and inclusion.
I am running to fix our city government by making it more responsive to you and to the concerns of the entire District. For decades now, one family has monopolized the political process in our community. This has created a disconnect between the career politicians and the everyday people they are supposed to serve. I will be a fresh voice in government, and as a member of City Council, I promise to turn the page and begin building a new future for our wonderful community
