Campaign Finance Board Votes on Penalties and Repayment Obligations; Announces Post-Election Payments

During a regularly scheduled meeting today, the Campaign Finance Board determined that eight campaigns had committed violations. Separately, the Board determined that eight campaigns must repay public funds. The Board also approved three post-election payments. For details, see below.

The Board approved a payment of $4,615, after the withholding of assessed penalties, to the campaign of Robert Friedrich, a candidate for City Council in the 2009 elections in District 23. This brings the total public funds received by Mr. Friedrich to $161,725.

The Board also approved a payment of $2,293 to the campaign of Robert Jackson, a candidate for City Council in the 2009 elections in District 7. This brings the total public funds received by Mr. Jackson to $107,325.

The Board also approved a payment of $39,252, after the withholding of assessed penalties, to the campaign of James Molinaro, a candidate for Staten Island Borough President in the 2009 elections. This brings the total public funds received by Mr. Molinaro to $667,500.
