Lyft and Uber Offer Discounted Rides to Early Voting Poll Sites
10/24/2019
NYC Votes is thrilled to announce that ridesharing companies Lyft and Uber will offer discounted rides to all New York City early voting poll sites from Saturday, October 26, through Sunday, November 3.
Voters may visit Voting.NYC and click "Where to Vote” to find the street address for their early voting poll sites. All New Yorkers are assigned a single early voting poll site, which may differ from their poll site on Election Day.
"Early voting provides New Yorkers with the flexibility to cast a ballot at a time that fits their busy schedules. We are so excited that Uber and Lyft have offered to make it even easier for New Yorkers to take advantage of this historic opportunity, " said Eric Friedman, Assistant Executive Director for Public Affairs at the NYC Campaign Finance Board.
Lyft users may receive 50% off one ride to an early voting poll site (up to $5 off one ride, while rides are available). Voters must use the code NYCVOTES when requesting a driver. This offer is only available within the five boroughs.
“At Lyft, we’re always working to improve lives by connecting people and their communities through the world’s best transportation. This Election Day, we want to make it easier for people in New York City to exercise their right to vote,” said Jen Hensley, Director of Public Policy for Lyft. “Every voice is important, and we’re excited to help make them heard in this year’s elections.”
Uber users may receive $10 off their ride to an early voting poll site by using the code NYSVOTES2019 upon requesting a driver. This offer is available to voters statewide.
“Voting is easier now that New Yorkers can vote early, and Uber is excited to work with the Campaign Finance Board to play our part in ensuring transportation is not a barrier in getting to the polls,” said Hayley Prim, Public Affairs Manager for Uber in New York.

The NYC Votes Voter Guide is available in print and online versions. Both versions include comprehensive information about the five ballot proposals that voters will be deciding in this election. Voters may visit Voting.NYC and click "Read the Voter Guide" for information about the candidates in each race and the five ballot initiatives.
The last day to cast a ballot is Election Day, on Tuesday, November 5. All poll sites will be closed on Monday, November 4. Early voting poll sites may differ from Election Day poll sites.
