NOW LIVE: Voter Guide for NYC's Primary Election On June 25

06/12/2019

NYC Votes announces the release of the official Voter Guide for the primary elections for Queens District Attorney and City Council District 45. The election takes place on Tuesday, June 25. New Yorkers may visit Voting.NYC and click "Read the Voter Guide" for information about the candidates on the ballot and how to vote.

The Voter Guide includes profiles for each of the candidates who submitted materials, including their top three issues and their experience in professional and public life. The guide also includes video statements from the candidates in City Council District 45.
A print guide covering the race in District 45 has been mailed to all registered, eligible voters living in the district.

In addition to providing nonpartisan information about the candidates, the online Voter Guide allows New Yorkers to look up their poll sites, read news articles about the election, and learn about their voting rights and deadlines.

Polls will be open on Election Day, June 25, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In order to cast a ballot, New Yorkers needed to have registered to vote by the deadline on May 31. The last day to postmark an absentee ballot application is June 18, and the completed absentee ballot must be mailed in by June 24. The last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot is June 24.

The CFB creates an online guide for every city election, which lists all candidates who were expected to be on the ballot at the time of publication. The profile information and photos are submitted by the candidates, all of whom have affirmed that the information provided is true to the best of their knowledge. Candidates without profile information or photos did not respond to multiple requests to participate.

NYC Votes is the nonpartisan voter engagement initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
