NYC Votes And New York City Board Of Elections To Distribute "I Voted" Stickers On Election Day

November 4, 2013

NYC Votes and the New York City Board of Elections are pleased to announce that “I Voted” stickers will be available at all poll sites in New York City on Tuesday, November 5.

Voters should ask for their sticker at the polls, and then let their friends know they voted by posting a photo of themselves wearing the sticker to social media. NYC Votes will collect photos for the “Voters of New York” photo album to encourage and remind other New Yorkers to vote on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to share their photos by using #IVoteNYC on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!

“Voting is a right and a responsibility, but it should also be fun. Providing the ‘I Voted’ sticker is just one small way we can make voting on Election Day more appealing to voters, and encourage more of them to turn out,” said Amy Loprest, executive director of the Campaign Finance Board. “We are so grateful to the Board of Elections for their help in making sure all voters will have stickers at their poll site on Tuesday.”

The sticker was designed by Zoe Markman, a 10-year-old Upper East Side resident, whose design featuring the Statue of Liberty won the NYC Vote’s #IVoteNYC Sticker Contest this summer. NYC Votes distributed the sticker to many poll sites for the primary elections in September. Thanks to the assistance of the NYC Board of Elections, every poll site will have stickers on November 5th.

Polls are open from 6am-9pm on Tuesday, November 5. Please go vote.

NYC Votes is the nonpartisan voter engagement campaign of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC).
