Today is the last day in the current fundraising period for the 2013 elections. Only candidates in the primary election or candidates who are seeking to spend up to the spending limit in the primary are required to file disclosure statements detailing their campaigns' financial activity from July 12, 2013 through August 5, 2013.
Candidates may file as early as tomorrow, August 6. A complete list of candidates registered with the CFB in the 2013 elections is available here. Program participants must file disclosures by close of business on Friday, August 9, in order to be eligible for public funds payment scheduled for Thursday, August 15.
August 9 is also the deadline to disclose independent expenditures made during the same period.
FILING DETAILS
Starting Tuesday, August 6, the CFB will post updates to its Twitter feed, @NYCCFB, as filings are received. You can easily search for updates with the hashtag #FilingDay.
We will update our website at regular intervals to reflect disclosure statements that have been received. A press advisory will be issued to alert the public each time the website is updated.
Financial information may be found in on the website:
- The CFB's campaign finance summary page contains basic financial information for all candidates and independent spenders who file with the CFB.
- A completely redesigned campaign finance summary will allow users to compare campaign spending and independent expenditures side-by-side and new charts will allow users to compare candidates in every race.
- Detailed information about individual transactions can be found in the CFB's searchable online database. The searchable database now also includes independent expenditure data. including images and video. A unified contribution search allows users to see contributions to candidates and independent spenders separately or together.
Candidates and independent spenders submit their disclosure statements electronically. Information on the contribution and spending limits for the 2013 elections can be found here.
The next filing deadline for candidates and independent spenders in the 2013 elections is August 30, 2013.
