Candidate Statement

I’ve dedicated my life to public service for over 18 years. I've served in the Brooklyn DA’s Office, New York State Attorney General’s Office, US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District and US Army as a military prosecutor. I’m a proud army combat veteran that served our country for one year in Afghanistan.

I’ve lived in Queens for almost 20 years with my wife and two kids. However, I grew up in East NY Brooklyn during the height of the crack epidemic in the 1980s and 90s where I saw violent crime in the streets, so I know why public safety is so important. But as a Latino I’ve also been subjected to racial profiling and know firsthand the problems in our justice system.

I have the life experience that motivates me to change the criminal justice system and the professional experience to be able to make those changes happen. Queens residents deserve an experienced and qualified District Attorney that will ensure public safety while respecting individuals' rights under the law.
