Candidate Statement
I have always had a core set of beliefs and values that drive my public service, and they continue to do so while I serve in congress.
- Grow a hard-working middle class in this country with increased wages.
- Understanding that we want to give those less fortunate a hand up, not a hand out.
- Securing our borders but realizing that our faith teaches us to welcome the stranger.
- Lower healthcare costs and prescription drug prices
- Protecting our environment for future generations because it’s our legacy
- Presidents like Harry Truman believed we needed a strong national defense, but not excessive waste and gold-plated weapons systems.
- President Kennedy was fiscally responsible. Cutting excessive taxes on the middle-class and fighting giveaways to corporations.
These values, they’re not new. They’re lasting values which we can apply to today’s problems.
