As your City Council
representative, I will work very hard to ensure that
all Flushing residents have more enjoyable, safe,
and significant lives. I believe my main
responsibility as a City Council representative will
be to provide the entire community with good and
adequate services. To that effect, I will lead the
fight to clean up Main Street. I will work to
relieve the traffic congestion in that busy artery
by assigning traffic police during peak hours,
restore the historic R.K.O theatre to its former
glory, and enforce the traffic regulations against
double-parked cars. In addition, I will work hard to
get more beat cops on the streets. One of my quality
of life priorities will be to place police booths on
Main Street to maintain a strong, but
community-minded police presence in this busy
section of Flushing. I will work to strengthen the
zoning laws so that our residential areas do not
lose their sense of identity and charm. Finally, I
will work to make our schools inviting and secure
places where students can learn and grow. Already,
our schools are overcrowded, I believe that more
classroom facilities must be made available for our
students. I will also work hard for our teachers.
Salaries for teachers and police officers must be
made competitive with the surrounding communities.
As your City Councilperson, these are some of the
initiatives I intend to bring into reality so that
our entire community can enjoy a better, safer, and
more productive existence.
