1. What is the most important issue in Council District 20 you would address if elected?
Public safety is of paramount concern. Our police precincts are doing their best despite being at an all-time low in the number of cops assigned. We need more police resources to combat burglary, car theft and vandalism. Unfortunately we must also fight an increase in illicit activity, including gambling and prostitution.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
As a member of the Council’s Education Committee and a proud product of our public schools, reforming education and improving our local schools are top priorities. We must insist on raising standards in our public schools, increasing reliance and trust in teachers to teach our kids and investing city resources in our future generations.
With rents and housing costs continuing to skyrocket, we need – more than ever – to create and maintain affordable housing.
And with a rapidly growing senior population, we must deliver more critical services to our seniors.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I have had the privilege of serving in the City Council for these past three and a half years, representing the hometown in which I grew up, where my wife Jenny and I are now raising our own family. It would be an honor to serve for another term, working to improve our community and our great City.
