1. What is the most important issue in Council District 45 you would address if elected?
I will fight for the expansion of economic development opportunities in the District and provide the necessary resources to educate our children for the 21st century. I’ll work to increase funding for health care and more prevention programs to combat HIV/AIDS. I will expand the availability of safe and affordable housing for poor and working families. Being a long time spokesperson for immigrants’ rights I will fight for ‘Fairer Immigration Policies.’
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
I intend to focus on predatory lenders and the high foreclosure rate in the District. The funding of After-School programs and organizations helping High School drop-outs and those reentering the community is another issue I will address. I will work to increase funding for Senior Citizen and Community-Centers. A strong supporter of Union Rights I will stand up for abused workers. After four years of promises and no action by the current Council Member I will ensure that the revitalization of Flatbush Junction comes to fruition.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
Its TIME to CHANGE that THING, Politics For Personal Gain. Politicians who offer A Pie In The Sky to the community and benefits to close friends and associates. For four year starting in 1997 I successfully managed this District, I have a proven record of honest and dependable advocacy, I will serve the entire community with dignity. Over the past two decades because of my leadership ability I was chosen and successfully chaired several Board of Directors, including the YMCA, Kings County Hospital Nursing Home and Camba’s Beacon after school program. I promise Service Not Politics As Usual. I will put the needs of the 45th District first at City Hall. With Your Help We Can Begin A New Era Of Inclusion.
