3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
The privilege of serving the people of Council District 45 is exceeded only by my ability to increase services and funding for over 3 years.
Look around the community. Roads being paved, parks upgraded, traffic lights installed, cleaner streets, potholes filled, sewers and drains cleaned, computers in every school, auditoriums air conditioned, science labs, after-school programs, summer camp scholarships, tree pruning, youth programs, partnerships with businesses and community leaders. My funding for Block-By-Block program creates cleaner, beautiful, safer blocks with beautification grants. This was possible with hard work, commited staff and cooperation from dedicated citizens like you. In the months ahead, we will make even greater strides in education, senior programs, healthcare, affordable housing, and jobs.
I won’t be satisfied with present success. There is much to be done. That is why I work so hard in the Council and in the Community, for the rights of working people, children, seniors, immigrants, tenants, consumers, patients and homeowners.
Through hard work and taking advantage of opportunities in this city of immigrants, I finished medical school. After 20 years of successful medical practice, I decided to take the political route to help solve our community problems. I want our young people to have the same opportunities that I had.
In the years as your Councilman, I have made tremendous strides in making improvements in the Community. I am proud of my fellow residents who work hard every day to help me and help each other to make the District better.
Problems that we have for many years will not be solved overnight but with your help we will continue to make progress.
I have the experience, the dedication and the commitment. ALL I NEED IS YOUR SUPPORT.
