1. What is the most important issue in Council District 48 you would address if elected?
Enact a law that forbids self-certified architectural plans to be approved by the Department of Buildings unless the Manhattan Beach Community Zoning Group approves it.
At a time when social programs are cut for the United States Citizens, illegal immigrants receive wide range of benefits from the United States Government. We must take care of our citizens first, before extending help for people who violate our laws.
Thousands of senior citizens in our district have to pay almost all of their earnings for housing expenses. I will fight to built more affordable housing for senior citizens.
Today TASC, the corporation sponsored by private and government funding, provides 46,000 kids with free after school programs in 245 locations in New York city. Do you know how many locations are in our City Council District? Just one. I will work with TASC and other Government agencies to bring free after school programs to every public and private schools in our district.
In order for our kids be prepared for successful career we must give them a chance to gain admission into prestigious public high schools like Stuyvesant and Brooklyn Tech. Therefore, we have to create free preparation course so our kids will be comfortable taking entrance examination for these schools.
Violent criminals have tendency to commit another crime soon after they leave prison. Hundreds of people are killed,robbed and raped by those criminals who repeat crimes in places where they live. We need to create a law that will prevent violent offenders to live within 100 miles of New York City.
