1. What is the most important issue in Council District 8 you would address if elected?
As a resident and member of the East Harlem “El Barrio” community for many years I have contributed to making our community a safer and more enjoyable place to live.
For more than three decades I have brought numerous musicals, dance and theatrical productions to the community highlighting the talents of local artists and also world class international artistic productions.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
When Puerto Rico, the island of my birth, was devastated by a hurricane I organized a drive to collect and send tens of thousands of dollars worth of relief supplies including food, clothing and medical supplies to help relieve the suffering of the island’s residents.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
As a member of the New York City Council representing East Harlem I will be able to provide even more resources to our schools.
I would like to ask you my neighbors and friends to vote for me, Edwin Marcial in the Democratic Primary Election on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. And I extend a most cordial invitation to the East Harlem community to stop by and say Hello to Edwin Marcial anytime at Friends of Edwin Marcial Office 181 East 111th Street.
