1. What is the most important issue in Council District 24 you would address if elected?
There is no question in my mind that health care remains the most critical issue not only for my district but for the city at large. Access to health care, affordable prescription drugs, saving our hospitals from closure and improved triage facilities remain hot button issues that I plan to address. In addition, New York City has almost 2 million uninsured residents creating a huge burden on the city’s health care system.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Higher salaries for teachers to attract and retain them. Smaller Class sizes. Increased funding for senior centers. Affordable health care and affordable prescription drugs. Expansion of after school programs. Safer streets and neighborhoods. Extended library hours and zoning & affordable housing.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I have worked tirelessly as a community activist for almost twenty years now and I have been an active participant in a wide variety of pro bono activities to benefit my district. I am a people person with integrity and strong family values and want to serve my district and give a voice to the people.
