1. What is the most important issue in Council District 19 you would address if elected?

Speaking with parents, education is a prevailing issue in my district. Our children deserve the finest education and should be provided with the resources necessary to achieve that goal. Equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills necessary to succeed is an absolute priority. Class size needs to be reduced, schools need to be built and administrators and teachers should focus on a well-rounded education that does not overemphasize standardized testing. If we fail in providing a quality education we fail a generation of Americans.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

When elected, my priorities will include stimulating the economy by reducing the tax burden thus creating private sector jobs. Our city is overburdened with taxes and nuisance fees that are not only devastating for small businesses but for struggling middle class. Government needs to tighten its belt, reduce wasteful spending and ensure it provides essential city services while maintaining and enhancing senior and youth service programs. Government should not increase the tax burden on those who have been hurt the most by the downturn in our economy.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have spent a considerable amount of my professional career in government and community service. I have extensive experience including my service in the Mayor's Community Assistance Unit where I had the privilege of serving two administrations Mayors Bloomberg and Giuliani's. This experience offered me an opportunity to work on an array of community issues as well as bridging the gap between various communities, resolving constituent complaints and establishing initiatives in order to benefit Queens and the entire City. This experience has provided me the skills to fulfill one of the major roles of a City Council Member.
