1. What is the most important issue in Council District 29 you would address if elected?

Protecting our jobs, homes and savings is priority number one. I will address this current economic crisis by promoting fiscal responsibility and by protecting and creating jobs. Where appropriate, partnerships between the public and private sectors should be formed to benefit our community and save money. I will protect working families from the burden of tax increases and make my office a go-to place for community members who seek financial advice about everything from tax exemptions to foreclosure prevention.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I will work to keep our streets safe, and ensure that we have sufficient police and fire department services and that our senior population has access to the programs and services to keep them healthy. I intend to fix problematic traffic issues and fight for substantial investments in basic infrastructure and make sure that we get our fair share of resources for our parks, the arts and for programs that improve quality of life; this includes the important issue of protecting and providing affordable housing.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

As a Director in the NYC Department of Finance for 20 years, I worked with every city agency and know how to get things done. I also know exactly what needs to be done because I have dedicated myself to our community for 14 years as President of the 112th precinct council. I have also served on the Community Board (as an officer and as committee chair), as Chief of the Community Emergency Response Team and as Vice-President of the civic. Our district deserves someone who will stand up for our needs without the backroom dealing of entrenched politics. I have always worked to improve our community and as your councilmember I will never stop working to make life better for everyone here.
