1. What is the most important issue in Council District 36 you would address if elected?
I would immediately make my office accessible to the community by creating flexible business hours. This would allow the community to have their complaints addressed or referred to the appropriate city, state or federal agency.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
As the new City Council member, education of our children will be a top priority. I will also strongly advocate for employment opportunities within the community, affordable housing and affordable healthcare.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I have lived here for over 26 years and I know this community. I am a product of public education and was not born with a silver spoon. I have served this city as a public servant for over 28 years. I have worked very hard for my accomplishments and at the same time, have always extended myself to others that are less fortunate. These experiences have made me very aware of the community concerns. As a home-owner, community activist, educator, law-enforcement officer and entrepreneur, I share the same complaints, pride, hardships and experiences as everyone else in the Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights Community. As the Council Member for District 36, I will be able to do far more than I am currently able to do.
