1. What is the most important issue in Council District 36 you would address if elected?
My experiences within this district has dictated that there is not one single issue that is most important. With so many key issues in the 36th District; unemployment, HIV/AIDS, foreclosures, youth services, and public safety are all important areas of concern for the residents of the 36th Council District.
If I am required to select one issue; as a Financial Empowerment Educator, former New York City Certified Public School Teacher and father, strengthening New York City's education system; not only for our children, but for adults of all ages. This would be of the utmost importance.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
The homeless shelters housed in the armories located on Bedford Avenue and Sumner Avenue are a major issue I would address if elected. The 36th District is continuously saturated with Social Services and saturated with service cuts and with the lack of recreational facilities in this district we need leadership that will not stand for two shelters in one district less than a mile apart.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
We need a leader who possesses academic and professional experience in both education and business. Leadership that has the capability to implement a vision and advocates the philosophy that true access to economic development, self-sufficiency and healthcare can only be obtained through education and I feel I can implement this vision if given the opportunity to become your next City Council Member.
