1. What is the most important issue in Council District 38 you would address if elected?
During the last eight years, while the rich got richer, the people who worked hard and played by the rules took it in the chin. All the while, the message from City Hall has been "we have to do more with less." The cost of living keeps rising and the city keeps cutting our limited resources. I will work tirelessly to assure we get a fair share of the city budget and that the city works for everyone, regardless of economic or social status. NY State is expected to get $25 billion out of the $787 billion Federal Stimulus Bill. This could mean restoring billions of dollars for affordable housing, healthcare, education and aid to small businesses, tenants, and homeowners.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Housing, Employment, Education, and City Council Reform requiring transparency and accountability of public funds.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I started this campaign with the basic idea that a democratic community should be represented by democratic values. I am the only candidate with the legal experience and background to best represent the people. Ask yourself, during the last eight years, has the City Council done anything to significantly improve your life? Then ask yourself, was extending their own term limits done for their personal interest or yours? Abraham Lincoln once said that a man cannot govern another man without that man's consent. This is still true today. Whether you are a student, parent, homeowner, tenant, single mom, resident of public housing, immigrant or citizen, my doors will be open and I will have a service available to you. I will work for you and not the other way around. Visit me at the web: www.robinson.politicalgateway.com. Thank you.
