1. What is the most important issue in Council District 45 you would address if elected?
The economic crisis and its impact on residents who are crying for help in areas of home foreclosures, affordable housing, increasing taxes, job losses, job insecurity, healthcare, and access to critically needed programs and services.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Education - The drop out crisis in our public schools; parent participation in school policy.
Economic Development - Needed support for small businesses seeking government contracts and services.
Youth - Diminishing job opportunities; the frequent cry for a multi-purpose youth center.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
My experience as an organizer and advocate.
My record of integrity and evidenced leadership skills necessary to build coalitions of community and religious leaders to facilitate and implement the changes we need in our community - "Change That Counts!"
My unique skills to be the persuasive and persistent voice our community needs in City Council to articulate their needs, bring their issues to the forefront, and advocate on their behalf.
My experience and management skills will allow me to work with other City Council Members to ensure that sustainable long term policies that will benefit residents of the 45th District are put in place.
