Candidate Statement
Upon election to the Assembly, I set out to bring my experience and voice as an educator, disability rights attorney, and community activist to the legislature, to advocate for education rights and social justice, the preservation and creation of truly affordable housing, combatting climate change through sustainable transportation and energy, including a sustainable revenue stream for the MTA, to protect women’s reproductive rights, and to enact voting and campaign finance reforms. I am proud to have passed legislation ensuring that children with dyslexia and related learning disorders get the educational services they need, and to lead in combating gun violence and closing the LLC Loophole.
If given the opportunity, I will continue working to ensure that every child has the opportunity for a better future, that every family has the chance to thrive, and an equal opportunity to access all the possibilities our State has to offer.
