Born in Far Rockaway Queens. My mother was
a -public schoolteacher and my father was a -civil
servant. I’m a mother of eight adult children, and
have one grandchild.
Life-long advocate for family and human rights
while nevertheless advocating for women’s rights,
pro-choice, anti-bias, and oppose capital
punishment. Supporter of rights For the disabled,
children, seniors and veterans.
Was a member of the community health board and
supporter of universal medical care and our public
hospitals.
Education reform and decentralization, smaller
classes, fairer pay and contracts for teachers. I
helped organize and tutored for the ACE and SEEK
programs at Queens College and support free
tuition for CUNY. I support opening schools
evenings and weekends for adult education,
literacy and culture. Advocate for transportation
improvements in service during weekends and
evenings. Oppose Rockefeller drug laws and support
their repeal as well as funds for addiction
therapy and the study of Ibogaine to treat
addiction. Support police accountability through
an independent civilian review Board. Support
environmental protection through clean alternative
energy choices and a safe environment for people
through support for the sunset ordinances.
