Renu “Rene” Lobo has earned
name recognition as a broadcast journalist over
the last 14 years. Her television programs can
be seen on International Television (Time Warner
Cable of NYC) and QPTV. Her programs are not only
invigorating and entertaining but also educational
and informative highlighting issues of topical
interest whether it’s public safety, domestic
violence, drug and alcohol abuse, health care
or any other quality of life concerns that impact
our daily lives- Lobo has covered them all.
Besides being a News Director, investigative
reporter and live-call-in-host, Rene has been
a strong community activist. She’s been actively
involved for the last 4 years on the Queens DA’s
Asian Advisory Council, Flushing Hospital’s Community
Advisory Board, Board Director for the South Asian
Bone Marrow Association (affiliate of NMDP of
USA) and is the founder/director for Eyes For
Hope, an organization for the blind in India.
She has successfully completed her Citizen Police
Academy training so that she can be a valuable
conduit between the community and NYPD. Lobo is
a recipient of several awards for her broadcast
work including a citation from Governor George
Pataki.
Rene has been a caring conscientious voice as
a broadcaster and a community activist and now
she plans to take her voice to City Hall to make
a positive impact on NYC politics.
