I am a firm believer in the idea that
every child deserves the opportunity to have a
decent education. and a choice of career opportunities
in their future. I also believe that as elected
officials, it is our responsibility to
ensure that these opportunities exist for our
children now and in the future. I believe that
in order to be truly successful in this regard,
we must be proactive in our legislative efforts
and not simply reactive.
This has always been, and will continue
to be, a trademark of my community development
efforts. As recently as last year for example,
I established a computer training center for the
sole purpose of bridging the skills and training
“gap” that exists among our employable
resident population. For many years this gap has
served as a source of major concern for our community
in general, and has proven to be a headache and
a major stumbling block for our job-seeking youth
There are additional concerns. I would like to
address the housing situation in our community.
