Lower Taxes. Our fair share of City services. Lisa Giovinazzo will be a Councilwoman who truly represents the interests of North Shore residents.
Born and raised in West Brighton to Italian and Irish American parents, Lisa shares your values and will champion them in the City Council fighting for lower taxes and better services.
A highly respected lawyer and financial journalist with a major cable news network, Lisa’s extensive experience on Wall Street will be pivotal in lowering taxes and creating new jobs. As a Member of the City Council, Lisa will introduce legislation to rescind this year’s 18.5% property tax hike and fight to eliminate the sales tax on clothing and footwear.
On education, Lisa will work with parents and community leaders on innovative solutions to reduce classroom overcrowding. She will lead the charge to secure funding to expand resources at local libraries and ensure that our children have updated textbooks and new computer labs. Lisa will oppose efforts by City leaders to shift Title I funding from Staten Island’s schools to other boroughs and also be an advocate for school reforms to give parents and teachers a more active voice in education decisions.
To protect families, Lisa will never backdown to City Hall and allow essential services in education, seniors, fire and police to be unfairly cut. Lisa will work to restore funding to build a new 120th precinct and ensure that our emergency responders have the equipment and resources they need to perform their jobs safely.
Lisa will also fight to protect funding for senior programs, be an advocate for our veterans and a champion for expanding access to high-quality healthcare for all Staten Islanders.
