1. What is the most important issue in the city you would address if elected?
EDUCATION: I would make sure that education is run by educators who believe in using diverse creative ways to turn students on to lifelong learning. We would have a catalog of curriculum instead of one mandated curriculum. We would rely less on standardized exams and more on a holistic view of student achievement. We would work with teachers, parents and students to help build unity within communities.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
I would encourage education in all areas of government as a more efficient way to improve our city. To help lower crime, we would increase education about our laws and the penalties for breaking those laws, especially in the schools.
I will always fight for individual human rights in all aspects of life. For example, students should go to school free of discrimination and all people have the right to live free of rodent infestation and leaking roofs.
I would encourage all citizens, especially city workers, to further their education by offering interest-free loans for education and making it easier to obtain a degree at a NYC University. New businesses will be offered tax incentives and interest-free loans as well to encourage them to come to NYC.
We would combine residential and commercial building to provide for more affordable housing and help small businesses. It would result in a more self-sustaining community within newly constructed buildings. I would also support any law and initiative that would help us have cleaner streets and more comfortable subways.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I am the best choice for the protection of human rights, professionalism in education, transparency in government and real representation of the people of New York City.
