1. What is the most important issue in Council District 41 you would address if elected?
EMPLOYMENT! The median income in the 41st Council District is less than $26,000 per year, with an unemployment rate of over 65% among Black men and nearly 50% for Black women the rate of unemployment for Black teens is an outragious 75-80%!
On my watch I will continue to develop jobs for our community! Currently I have developed a "young filmmakers" training program. This program trains youths for film industry jobs.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Education! I have served on Community School Board District 16 for 20 years and as Board President for over eight years. During my tenure, as President my district has gone from one of the worst districts, before the mayor took control of the education system, to the most improved school district in the city!
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I am the only candidate with a track record of public service! I have served as a Judicial Delegate, School Board Member, President of the School Board, AIDS care provider and a football coach for over 300 Bed-Stuy young men. It is time to end the control of our community by one family. Almost all of the elective positions are controlled by one family.
POWER CORRUPTS...AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.
