1. What is the most important issue in Council District 39 you would address if elected?
New York is facing lean times and we must act to protect our quality of life and the historic character of our neighborhoods. Before we begin to see our services cut, we need a Councilman who will fight for fiscal responsibility and total accountability in government, ensuring that we're not deprived of the basics keeping our community afloat: good schools, safe streets, clean parks, public transportation.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
- I will establish a "Small Changes for Better Communities" program that will work with community groups and residents to identify and solve local problems.
- I oppose overdevelopment and will fight to keep our neighborhoods affordable, diverse and beautiful.
- I will fight for meaningful education reform and accountability at the Department of Education.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
As an expectant father and new homeowner I understand the struggle of trying to start a life here. As a fifth-generation Brooklynite I understand what hard times have done to the people of these neighborhoods, and I know what it takes to keep us moving forwards. I've got 14 years of government experience and a wealth of knowledge about the issues facing our district. I'm passionate about our neighborhoods and I know how to get things done.
